Look out for each other...It goes without saying because this community has always been full of kind people...

Be extra kind and supportive to each other during this difficult time... both to those you know and those that you don't... GH was always so appreciative of the love and support he got from this community. ✨

LiamWow... incredibly sad to hear this news. Condolences to you all.

Feels appropriate and from here on will forever remind me of Glen:

Of all the comrades ere I had, they’re sorry for my going away,
And all the sweethearts ere I had , they wish me one more day to stay,
But since it falls unto my lot that I should go and you should not,
I’ll gently rise and softly call, goodnight and joy be with you all.

Gutted I am just at a loss. Mindy and I were lucky to have been at the July Dublin show. Can’t believe none of us will see the best live performer again. Immediately thought of all of you even though I haven’t been on the board in years. Hugs and love to Buffy, Nolan, Vic, RobC, Trigger, Foofer, Nika, and yes even Hollocaine and all the rest. This band and this board will always be a huge part of my life.

horrible heartbreaki don't think ive been on this board in a very long time. my first trip out of the US was to see the frames new years show at vicar street on dec 31 2007. That was easily the best live show I've ever seen and ignited my love of Ireland, and travel in general. I used to hang out here a lot, and made a ton of friends over the years. This is so devastating. Hang in there everyone.

DunnoHi All,
I haven't even thought about this board in over a decade but the news yesterday brought it back.

Its so long ago I'm not sure this is the handle I used. Probably nostalgia but fellings flooded back. Magic nights in the Lobby Bar. Whelans. Leap. De Barras. Standing on the quays outside the Loddy with Mic Christopher singing after closing.

The discovery of the frames. The vibe. The tribe. The love. The comeraderie. Before kids when music was everything. It was a revalation. You did wonder what would happen if the heart just stopped. The breatless wait between Fitzcarraldo and For the Birds.

Yesterday brought it tumbling back. The joy that man brought. The energy. The fuck it all just feel it.

Today I felt I needed a community. Seeing these names gives comfort.

We all felt we knew him, but condolences to those who knew and loved the man and not just the artist.

The cliche is that an artist lives while his art lives. There is truth there.

It was written for Luke Kelly but if the cap fits......

From Dublin streets and roads and down the years

Came great musicians and balladeers

There was a special one, a red haired minstrel boy

And when he passed away, a city mourned its favorite son

All the memories I couldn't bring myself to post until now. Hadn't thought of this board until I heard the news and although I was never a regular poster i loved the sense of community it brought. A shared sense of awe of all things Frames. It's hard to believe there will never be another Frames gig. I do feel lucky for all the ones I experienced though! Love to all
