Ditto!!Hi Terreal...I was going to post something very similar (as we're coming from SF, CA and first timers to Dublin).
I am also curious about the show/venue, and would love any tips in terms of arrival time, crowd size, etc.
And I assume there is no chance of a "secret" smaller show in the days before or after this one??
Thanks, all.
-Michael

How exciting!AH MAH GAH. I hadn't even considered a secret show. I've been listening to podcasts about what I should do. This is my second time in 14 years so it's been a minute. I'm so excited!

Suggestions?Nice idea on podcasts...got any favorites?
We are around Fri-Wed (and then the following Friday) and just looking for cool places to hang out, listen to music and have a pint or few (besides a couple of the obvious must do tourist things, I suppose).

Here's a few...Nice pubs for a pint (specifically guinness):
- Grogans
- Hogans (South Great George's St)
- Long Hall (South Great George's St)
- Stag's Head (Dame Lane)
- Gravediggers (Glasnevin)
- Whelans (usually open from ~ 4pm and it's quiet at that hour)

Things to do:
- Dublin Castle (even just walking around the grounds is nice)
- Glasnevin Cemetery
- Marsh Library
- National Library of Ireland (Glen did a #Courage2020 live stream here)
- Viking Splash Tour is supposed to be great (never done it)
- Walking tours around the city (some really good guides)
- Learn to play a bodhran with Rónán Ó Snodaigh (https://mvpdublin.com/bodhran/)

Walking things:
- Bray Cliff Walk
- Climb up Killiney Hill
- Take a stroll around Phoenix Park
- Visit the Irish National War Memorial Park
- Visit the Iveagh Gardens

For the gig:
- so out of practice I'll be relying on my more seasoned friends. Probably meet for lunch someone central and then head towards the venue. Entrance for IMMA concerts is typically here: https://goo.gl/maps/39UvXkXeturHFQBa
- Previous experience suggests people will start queuing 2-3 hours before the doors are due to open (to get their place at the rail).
- Bring a confortable shoes / runners (it's a large site) and a poncho if the weather indicates there might be a shower (something light that you don't have to drag around). The shows in IMMA tend to be covered (haven't heard the plan for 2022) so it's mostly for moving around outside the tents.
- Capacity for the site is over 20,000 but gigs tend to be 5,000 - 10,000 depending on the setup. I would expect closer to 5000 if it's the tent setup that has been used for past events.

Unlikely to be any secret gigs. The band will be rehearsing during the week though I suspect since it's been an age since some of the songs have been played.

Nice idea! This sounds very cool, thanks for sharing. Might try and do the singing version on Sunday (post gig).
IF you have a second to post after your trip, that would be swell, too...thanks again.

The Cobblestone pub!The Cobblestone pub is really nice! Also if anyone wants to meet pre-gig on saturday or friday evening I'm up for it! I'm Janneke aka Jane and I'm 32 and back when I was a teen I was a massive frames fan, and probably still am haha. My favourite song of theirs is.... What Happens When The Heart Just Stops.

Thinking the same Was curious what time one would need to be there for a decent spot in the crowd (say a 1/3 towards the stage). Haven't a clue in terms of scope for this gig and don't want to be TOO far back. Thanks for any guidance
