For it´s the best
he´s ever done as his solo work. I can´t give the exact reasons why but I just fell in love with it and have listened to it so many times, love its intimacy. It can be really seen that he was thinking about the songs much more than ever before.

didn't he ramble
Listened to it while driving through the mts. yesterday. Like it (of course) but not in love with it. I do love that he made what he needed to make, and sing what he felt he needed to sing. This isn't a critique, just saying most songs don't hit my heart strings. Will listen again and again though. Once isn't enough.

here's a quote from The Yale News, a review by Patricia Hampl...at the end she says: "And though the work is not perfectly engineered for the hometown audience, Hansard conveys the pathos unique to a son of Erin." I'd agree wholeheartedly with that. I only found maybe two songs so far totally forgettable on the album. I am THRILLED to finally have HER MERCY so I can listen to it over and over.
